HSMAI Vietnam founding Circle.
HSMAI is launching a new chaptter in Vietnam, one of Asia’s fastest-growing and most strategically important hospitality markets. To ensure long-term impact and sustainability, HSMAI will invest directly in the market by appointing a Managing Director for Vietnam, supported by a locally led Advisory Board. Together, they wiul validate HSMAI’s strategic roadmap and establish the foundation for industry-leading education, certification, and thought-leadershp programs.
Why the Founding Circle Matters
The Founding Circle plays a critical role in the early development of HSMAI Vietnam. Partner support enables HSMAI to:

CASE STUDY – Singapore Chapter
In 2015, Marina Bay Sands Singapore provided funds to support the growth of the Singapore Chapter of HSMAI. This is a 10-year agreement, with a 3-year renewal point.In 2018, the agreement was renewed for the remaining 7 years. This sustained commitment to provide funding has allowed us to grow the Chapter at an amazing rate. Our initial goals were:
- ·More members
- ·Higher engagement of industry people in HSMAI
- ·Raise the brand of HSMAI by bringing more HSMAI products into the market
What has happened since 2014?
- Membership grew by 300% in year 1, 6% in year 2 and another 10% in year 3. Even better news is that we’re engaging with a lot more people in the industry, whether they are members, or they just attend events, the numbers are growing.
- In 2014, there was 6 x events in Singapore with a grand total of 86 attendees, in 2017 we held 11 events with a total of 380 people (over 400% increase on 2014 and 18% increase on 2017). Our social groups are growing, we are also continuing to grow the volunteer Board Members, including more educators and getting hospitality schools involved.
- In addition to the strategic goals, other achievements:
- Launched Annual HSMAI Revenue Optimization Conference and Digital Marketing Conferences for the first time in Asia Pacific
- Developed a strong ‘Revenue Advisory Board’ for the Region
- Developed a Digital Advisory Board, now the Marketing Advisory Board
- Designed, developed and launched a new Digital platform for the association including 2 websites, a new membership platform, HSMAI Academy and Learning Management System (LMS), Jobs, Events management, multi-currency payments, tracking and analytics and more
- Create 10 entry-level, online Revenue management courses known as the “Certificate in Revenue Management (Hospitality)”
- Create 10 entry-level, online Digital Marketing courses known as the “Certificate in Digital Marketing (Hospitality)”
- Created a hierarchical education plan for HSMAI using a product management approach and a vision to assist hotel staff as they grow their career
- Worked with Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and Fairmont Raffles to develop a video for Hospitality students about the role and value of Revenue Management in the Hospitality industry.
