    Shane’s seasoned career in hospitality and tourism has taken him cross borders from his native Australia, where he has had lengthy stints In the UAE, Qatar, Mauritius and now Thailand, with a career spanning over 20 years.

    Holding key positions with Jumeirah Group, IHG and Starwood, Shane’s most recent foray into South-East Asia has him at the commercial helm of the very successful, Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok and Sindhorn Midtown Hotel Bangkok, Vignette Collection properties; both hotels glittering with awards and showcasing innovative activations since their opening, whether sweeping Travel + Leisure leaderboards, to the Guinness Book World Record, for the World’s Biggest Negroni – it’s safe to say, his voice is heard, it actually echoes.

    Shane is a fierce ally for the diversity, equality and inclusion space and is the Director of the IHG ECG DAWN – Disability and Wellness Network – Thailand. Where he works with an incredible team outside his usual remit – with various charities and organizations to raise awareness for inclusion in the workplace. His strapline is ‘to recognise we are all different, is the beginning of a new DAWN.’

    In the social media space, Shane and his team have developed the Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok from ground zero as he’s held his role since the preopen of the hotel and has recently completed his 5 year anniversary. He credits one of his greatest achievements in social media as showcasing humility, and discovering the ‘voice’ of the hotel.

    In 2023 Shane was the recipient of the IHG SEAK Commercial Leader of the Year award.

    Shane and his family call Thailand their home, and are grateful to the Thai community for embracing them.
